Patient clinical outcomes research

Aimee Pinnington is looking for participants for her study into the education, training, and development pathways shaping the workforce.

It is estimated that biomedical scientists are involved in the diagnostic pathways of 75–95% of patients within the NHS. Despite this, there remain concerns about a lack of awareness about the role among the public and fellow healthcare professionals. Uncertainty around the extent of biomedical scientists’ involvement in patient care pathways may compound this issue.

There are several routes to HCPC registration, such as top-up modules and apprenticeships, which adds a layer of complexity and confusion for students looking to study biomedical science.
