Presidents prize: Salford

David Scannali recently graduated with a first-class degree from the BSc (Hons) Applied Biomedical Science course at the University of Salford, Manchester.

During his placement year, David worked in the university’s Kidscan laboratories, where he looked into a number of marine polysaccharides as alternative treatments for acute lymphoblastic and chronic myeloid leukaemia. He is currently seeking a post to gain more laboratory experience, and aims to undertake a PhD at some point in the future. David is pictured receiving his prize from IBMS Council member David Eccleston.
