Council Elections 2019

The results of the 2019 IBMS Council elections were announced by the President at the Annual General Meeting in London on 8th June 2019.

National

Two national Council members were due to retire from Council at the close of the AGM, and this resulted in two national seats for Council falling vacant in 2019.

Seven candidates stood for election and Dr Joanne Horne and Professor Keith Hyde were duly elected by ballot, and took office from the conclusion of the AGM. They will each serve for a term of three years.

Regional

Four regional members were due to retire at the close of the AGM, namely Mr Gordon McNair (Irish Region), Mr Andrew Usher (South West), Mr Nigel Coles (West Midlands) and Mrs Joanna Andrew (Yorkshire). There was also a vacancy for Scotland.

Nominations for the vacancies were received from Mrs Shauna McAuley (Irish Region), Dr Linda Walsh (Scotland), Mr Andrew Usher (South West) and Mrs Joanna Andrew (Yorkshire). They were duly elected regional members of Council, without the requirement for a ballot, and took office from the conclusion of the meeting for a term of three years.

Two nominations for the West Midlands vacancy were received and Mr Nigel Coles was duly elected by ballot, and took office from the conclusion of the AGM. He will serve for a term of three years.
