Distance Learning Tutor – Medical Microbiology

Learning Development Services (LDS) play a pivotal role developing academically credible, business-relevant distance learning courses, using learning technologies to enhance student experience and to help equip students with the skills fit for 21st century employment. We have an opening for a Medical Microbiology distance learning tutor to join our MSc Biomedical Science teaching team. Topics will include pathogenesis, diagnostic techniques, epidemiology, treatments and quality assurance processes. The successful candidate will assist students in creating portfolios of evidence at MSc level, designed to demonstrate that they have met module learning outcomes. Activities will include providing constructive feedback on draft portfolios and reflective commentaries, setting formative tasks, and marking submitted work.

The ideal candidate will have experience of distance learning delivery. To be eligible, you will have relevant academic qualifications, including specific qualifications and expertise in Microbiology, to at least MSc level; be HCPC registered; and have experience of applying skills, methods and techniques in a learning and teaching environment. You will be IT literate, and student focussed with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Recruitment will be contracted on a module-by-module basis as an associate lecturer with the Faculty of Science and Technology.
